One of the few true funk and soul groups from Utah. Masterminded by Andy Miera and vocalist Larry Barnes with an assortment of other talent. The band was built from the remnants of the The New Citations from Reno, a soul group which I’ve yet to hear. Platinum Plus opened for groups like Chaka Kahn and Ike Turner Review in the 70s.

This recording has killer production. The drums are the star of the show and hit just hard enough before they peak out in the mix. The B side is a mellow ballad that sounds somewhat like the Sylvers and other groups from this time period.
