It’s 1980. The Great Salt Lake is close to 4,200 feet above sea level, giving it a surface area of 2,300 square miles, which means there’s plenty of room to sail. I dunno if I’d call this craft a yacht, but it’ll do. I’d love to have a bit of caffeine free orange Slice soda in my hands, but that won’t debut for a few years, so a nice frosty root beer does me just right.

Along with my cool beverage and not-quite-yacht rings the smooth sounds of Foxfire across the water. I dunno if I’d call this music yacht rock, but you might do well calling it the Steely Dan of Utah at any rate. Funky bass, precision guitar, and keyboards saltier than the Lake itself make way for some choice harmonic vocal goodness as I slowly twirl the mustache that I’ll never shave as long as I live. Yes, it’s a good day to sail. Pass it on, my brother.
