The Bondsmen - I Don't Love You Anymore / Venus of Venus

Location: Ogden, Utah
Year: 1967
Label: Guillotine Records
Catalog Number: 6-504

Style: Garage Rock, Psychedelic Rock

One of several Bruce Unck productions under the grimly titled Guillotine Records, a label that runs deeply with dark themes such as the loss of love, death, gremlins, morticians, and the list goes on. The Bondsmen were known to be Craig Brewer, Bill Wagstaff, Marshall Waters and Pat Edwards.

This particular single features some of the best production, and musicianship found on the label. Eerie guitar trickery, downer vocals that have you questioning your mortality, intricate song-writing and excellent arrangements. A personal favorite.

Check out others on the label in this collection such as The Henchman and Susie D and the Gremlins. Also, the Fabulous Morticians which are unfortunately not featured, we’ve just never seen a copy surface locally. However, clips are available on YouTube.
